It all begins with an idea.
KOMPAK was born in Hong Kong, the birthplace of micro-flats, as I was in the process of moving apartments in 2019.
The average Hongkonger lives in 161 sq ft, so we had to get creative in maximising our space.
After a visit to a major Scandinavian family furniture store, we suddenly realised the fittings and furniture were either too big or single-use, taking up all the space in the apartment.
Urban dwellings currently account for over 50% of the world’s population. Around the world, you can identify identical problems; from London to Lisbon, Manhattan to Mumbai, Singapore to Seattle.
Rising rents reduce living space size, & the high cost of functional fittings‘ makes for a miserable existence for young professionals, entrepreneurs, students & temporary workers who want to live close to the action.
The extended-stay market provides a variety of solutions to this, whether it is Co-Living, Apart-Hotels, Serviced Apartments, or Micro Apartments.
KOMPAK serves these clients by maximising space in their micro-dwellings and providing an enhanced guest experience.
Micro living is in our DNA. We are building a dynamic range of modern furniture & efficient appliances exclusively for spaces 150-400 sq ft.
